Fun jumping

Our club membership year starts on 1st April and runs in line with the British Skydiving annual membership renewal period. Club membership forms can be filled in on arrival at the centre. Please ensure you have renewed your British Skydiving membership online before attending the centre.

New member / membership renewal checklist

When attending the centre as a new member or to renew your club membership please ensure you bring the following documentation with you.

Logbook (please ensure this has been updated and the information contained is correct)
British Skydiving Medical form (either a self-declaration or Doctor’s Medical)
FAI Licence (or equivalent)
British Skydiving Membership Certificate (electronic or printed copy)

For those skydivers bringing their own kit to the centre you will need to bring with you documentation for all rigs. Equipment will be inspected and tagged before manifesting to ensure that it has been well maintained and all reserve parachutes are in date.

AFF / Consol students currency requirements

AFF/Consol student’s currency requirements are detailed in your AFF manuals. If you are unsure about your currency requirements or are looking to restart your AFF after a break please contact the main office via email at info@skydive.co.uk for more information before attending the centre.

‘A’ Licence currency requirements

‘A’ Licence skydivers who have not jumped within one month will need to complete daily drills with an Instructor before manifesting.
‘A’ Licence skydivers who have not jumped for more than a month, but less than 3 months will need revision training with an Instructor before manifesting. This can be arranged on the day, subject to availability.

‘A’ Licence Refresh training

(only available for skydivers who originally trained at Hinton)

‘A’ Licence skydivers who have not jumped for more than 3 months but less than 1 year can book onto a refresher training course. Refresher courses are run Tuesday – Friday only. Please contact info@skydive.co.uk for more information. Please note that due to high demand, this service is only available for those ‘A’ Licence skydivers who initially trained here at Hinton Skydiving. Un-current ‘A’ Licence skydivers who trained elsewhere will need to enquire at their original centre with regard to refresher training.
‘A’ Licence skydivers who have not jumped for more than 12 months will need to attend the centre with all their documentation and an Instructor will advise the appropriate measures required for regaining currency and the relevant charges. Training and/or jumping will not take place on that same day. Please contact info@skydive.co.uk for more information. Please note that due to high demand, this service is only available for those ‘A’ Licence skydivers who initially trained here at Hinton Skydiving Centre.

‘B’ Licence and above currency requirements

‘B’ Licence and above skydivers who have not jumped for more than 12 months will need to attend the centre with all their documentation and an Instructor will advise the appropriate measures required for regaining currency and the relevant charges. Training and/or jumping will not necessarily take place on that same day. Please contact info@skydive.co.uk for more information.

Coaching

All coaches operating at the centre must have a valid coach rating for the specific discipline they are undertaking. It is important to keep up to date with any updates which are published as part of the ‘British Skydiving Operations Manual’ and also to ensure you maintain your currency and flying skills.

Please be advised that all coaching must be organised directly through the individual coaches and not through the centre. Coaching can be arranged on a 1-to-1 basis with individual coaches whilst at the centre depending on their availability. For those looking to arrange coaching in advance you can check availability by contacting the FB group ‘Hinton DZ Crowd’.

New coaches wishing to operate at Hinton should introduce themselves to the CI and DZ Manager as a matter of courtesy before undertaking any coaching jumps. They must also ensure that the have the relevant coach rating for the specific discipline they are undertaking.

Kit Hire

We have a selection of rigs for hire at Hinton from the kit store in the main hangar ranging from 280sqft to 200sqft depending on availability. Kit Hire is priced at £15 per jump which includes the re-pack and also ancillary equipment for ‘A’ licence skydivers.

For ‘B’ licence skydivers and above the daily hire of ancillary equipment is priced at £5 per item.

Next door in ‘DZ Sports’ they have a selection of rigs ranging from 190sqft to 169sqft with Kit Hire also priced at £15.
